LEARN TO MASTER THE ART OF FIRE COOKING

WITH FIRE CHEF CHARLY PRETÉT

learn the skills to cook over the open fire, and enjoy a lunch under the trees to feast after the cook up.

 

During this 4h cooking class, you will learn all the basics skills to nail your open-fire cooking - no more charred snags on the barbie; level up your outdoor cooking game and impress your friends and family with a fire-cooked feast at the next get-together.

WHAT WILL

WE LEARN?

Fire-chef Charly Pretét will take you through all the stages of preparing and cooking an open-fire feast.

You will learn how to start and tend your fire, and how to cook over the open flames and coals from stage to stage. You'll also learn his signature recipes and how to prepare your meats, veg, sauces and sides - even desserts.

Charly will teach you how and when to employ the different methods of cooking: Smoking, Grilling and Slow roasting, and how each different method influences the flavours and textures of your produce.

After soaking up all the knowledge and wisdom you can get from our fire-master chefs, you will enjoy a lunch under the trees (or under cover in case of wet weather) to enjoy all the delicious food we have been cooking together.

This is a BYO event, so you can bring along your favourite libations to enjoy with your fire-cooked lunch - or to share with your fellow foodies!

MEET FIRE CHEF CHARLY PRETÉT

Having spent his childhood fishing and growing organic veggies with his Grandfather and cooking with his Mum on the family property on the Atlantic  Coast of France, Chef Charles-Etienne Prétet always knew his life would revolve around good food, outdoor activities and cooking over the fire. 

 

The Parisian Chef Charly opened his first fine dining restaurant, CUISTANCE, at the age of 25, next to the Louvres. The restaurant received the famous Gault et Millau award - by Guide Puldowski and Guide Lebey.

​On moving to Australia with his wife, they opened their dream restaurant, THE FRENCH PANTREE, in his wife's home town, the little seaside town of Yamba, in the beautiful region of Northern NSW.

 

Chef Charly was awarded a Chef Hat in 2018, 2019 and 2020 by the prestigious AUSTRALIAN FOOD GUIDE, showcasing the best of what the region had to offer.
